Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
The brewery was built in Wyke regis in 1863. It later became Wyatt's Brwery, and sold out to John Groves of Weymouth in the late 1870s, when it had 6 tied houses. The premises is believed to have have comprised of a three-storeued 5-quarter brewhouse of stone with brick dressings, fronted by a yard and forebuildings, including a row of cottages, and an archway to the street. It was later used as a slaughterhouse until 1939, then fell derelict, and was replaced by a bungalow in the 1960s. One side wall survives as a boundary wall to the west, including window openings. The brewery is not depicted on OS historical mapping and is unlocated.
