Full Description

Area centred at SY 69038805. No information regarding this site was obtainable. The area is partly agricultural land, where no earthworks were observed, and partly occupied by the out-buildings of Herringston. <1> Winterborne Herringston, earlier known as Winterborne Beauchamp, was one of the small riverside settlements listed as Winterbornes in 1086 (Domesday Book). Until the 17th century it was included in the parish of Winterborne Farringdon, and thereafter until the late 19th century in Winterborne Came. There is no village. <2> SY 690881.
