Summary
A post medieval extractive pit to the south of Sandpit Farm, Lytchett Matravers, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is located within a southwest to northeast running seam of sand, clay and gravels. Some additional pits within the vicinity are documented on the OS 1st Edition map and are variously clay, sand, gravel or chalk pits, reflecting the variable geology of the area. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit to the south of Sandpit Farm, Lytchett Matravers, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1].
