Summary
An urn was found by workmen in High Wood or Highwood in 1857. The urn was said to be inverted over some ashes, and buried a few feet below the surface. The exact findspot is not known.

Full Description
In 1857 a cinerary urn was discovered in High Wood (Highwood?) a few feet below the surface. There was no barrow or mound over the spot. Broken by the spade it was inverted over some ashes; height 18ins, diameter 9 or 10ins. at mouth, 15ins. at the bulge, and nearly 12ins at the bottom. <1-2>
No further information was gathered during field investigation to site this cremation burial, or the present location of the urn. <3>
