Summary
Site of a World War II underground auxiliary unit operational base identified at Creech Barrow, west of Norden Farm and close to the Purbeck Way. The base was constructed in 1940-41 and was to be demolished in 1949. The precise location and condition of the site is uncertain.

Auxiliary Unit site. [Information from Colin Durrant. Also from Fred Simpson, ex-Auxiliary Unit member].TDW/1155 (Ministry of Town and Country Planning reference). Cassini grid 41/10 SE 371032. Underground shelter considered for destruction as public danger, 1949. LOCATION: Creech Barrow, W of Norden Farm and close to the Purbeck Way, one and a half miles from Corfe Castle. <1-3>
