Full Description
SY 80709629. A brick built obelisk with ashlar dressings at Weatherby Castle hill-fort comprises a rectangular brick plinth at the base, rising into a tapering shaft. At the summit are three courses of ashlar, profiled to form a pedestal for a copper ball finial. A stone in the plinth is inscribed 'EMP 1761', presumably for Edmund Morton Pleydell. <2>
