Full Description
Adjoining the Town Cellars on the east side there formerly stood a very ancient stone-built structure known as the Ship Inn and previous to that as Paradise Cellar. The fireplace and some of the hammer beams are on view at the Old Town House.
The proximity of this building to the Town Cellars, or Woolhouse, leads one to suggest that it may have been the headquarters of the
Controller of the Port of Poole. <1>
Sited from information in auth. 1 to SZ 00889032. Site now occupied by corn warehouse - in which there is no visible trace of antiquity. <2>
