Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A house of two storeys with rubble walls and ashlar dressings was built in the 'Gothic' style between 1794-98 by Thomas Weld, a member of a Roman Catholic family; the upper storey was built as a chapel although this was not registered as a certified place of worship before 1852. The house is a late 18th century example of special-purpose planning of much interest.
