Monument record MDO4759 - Lime kiln at Newholme Farm, Stalbridge
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
One of two lime kilns noted from the 1900 Ordnance Survey map. The date of the kiln is not known, but it is most likely to be nineteenth century. This kiln was visited by Peter Stanier in 1992-93, and he noted that very little (1-19%) of the kiln survived; what remained was in bad condition and it was not possible to determine what type of kiln construction this was.
