Summary
Obelisk situated in the grounds of Kingston Lacy. It was brought to England in 1819 and is set on a plinth which is inscribed to record its erection by the priests of the Island of Philae in about 150 BC, and its re-erection on its present site in 1827.

An Egyptian granite obelisk, brought to England in 1819 stands in the grounds of Kingston Lacy, facing the south front. It is set on a plinth which is inscribed to record its erection by the priests of the Island of Philae in about 150 BC, and its re-erection on its present site in 1827. <1> <3>
