Summary
A Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. It was opened after 1945 and the post closed in September 1991. The site was found to be in a good condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. The site was located underground in a small square compound on Poundbury Rings, 100 yards north of Poundbury Road.

Full Description
The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as a part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. The site was found to be in a good condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey.<1-3>
It was opened after 1945 and the post closed in September 1991. The site was located underground in a small square compound on Poundbury Rings, 100 yards north of Poundbury Road. <4>
