Full Description
Puddletown village is now the only settlement of any size in the parish of Puddletown, but in Medieval times there were several other named sttlements. Puddletown is recorded as Pitretone in Domesday Book. By 1349 the name was Pudultoune - `Farm on the River Piddle'. <1>
