Summary
A Bronze Age bowl barrow described as being at the north end of Bincombe Hewish was opened in 1850 by antiquarian Charles Warne, who found a cremation burial in a cist.

Full Description
Barrow on the north end of Bincombe Hewish (SY 6884) opened by Warne in October 1850. it was of considerable size and composed
of about an equal amount of chalk, flints and earth. The only find was a cist cut in the natural chalk containing "a moderate quantity of burnt bones and ashes". <1>
At the north end of Bincombe Hewish. Barrow opened by Warne: simple cremation in cist. <2>
No further information concerning the excavation was obtained during field investigation. <3>
