Summary
A pond situated within the interior of Badbury Rings. The two ponds were in use by 1887 and are rectilinear in shape; one may have originated as a quarry pit.

Full Description
Two water-filled ponds cut into the gravel bed are located opposite the W entrance within the interior of Badbury Rings hillfort.
ST 96340303. An embanked rectangular pit, 22m by 14m, gives the appearance of having been deliberately dug as a pond. Both ponds were certainly in existance in 1887 as both are depicted on the OS 25 inch map. Only the `quarry' pond is located on the 1811 Inclosure Map.
