They were in a swallow hole undermined by quarrrying. Presented to Dorset County Museum. (Poundbury Farm not located). <1>
A fine greenstone Ne celt was found when digging a drain at Portesham in January 1903. It is 6 3/8ins. long and 2 3/4 ins at its widest. It was exhibited by Dr Colley March at the Field Club meeting along with a fragment of a celt which he had found two years previously in a field between Portesham and Steepleton (2).
No further inforamtion was obtained during field investigation (3)
The NRHE record describes this find as being from Poundbury Farm at Portesham. This is a mis-reading of the PDNHAS note <1> which refers separately to an axehead from Poundbury Farm. <5>
