Full Description

Listed under BINCOMBE PARISH. Excavation records of unlocated barrows above BINCOMBE. Porbably near RIDGEWAY. No 49a. xWARNE No.43. (Primary?) deposit of ashes; three secondary or intrusive inhumations. <1.1> No.49b. xWARNE No 6, near RIDGEWAY, opened 1784: (primary?) inurned cremation, and intensive skeletons of man, woman, and child, covered with large stones. <1.2> No 49c. xWARNE No 7, near RIDGEWAY, opened 1784 (primary?) deposit oftwo urns - one with burnt bones, the other containing bronze dagger; secondary cremations, and secondary or intrusive skeletons. <1.2> xNo 49b. Very large barrow <1.2>. No information was obtained to enable the excavation reports contained in T.I. to be attached to any located barrow. <2>
