Summary
1668 wreck of a craft which foundered in the area of the Bill of Portland, as evidenced by a mainmast which washed ashore on Chesil Beach, Dorset. The size of the mast suggested the vessel was approximately 60 tons. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel.

'Feb. 3. Weymouth. John Pocock to Hickes. A mainmast, seeming to belong to a ship of 60 tons, has been driven ashore on Portland beach, so judges there has been a wreck.' (1)
