An irregular hollow feature to the north of Henley, Buckland Newton, is visible as an earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map as an old chalk pit, where it appears slightly smaller than shown on lidar. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
