Summary

Bronze Age bowl barrow surviving as a low earthwork. In 1972 the RCHME reported that this monument was approximately 20 feet in diameter, with a mound standing some 2 feet high. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water. The feature is visible as a sub-oval mound on Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

'B' ST 92300527, Bowl barrow 10.0m diameter by 1.0m high with no visible ditch, and apparently unexcavated. <1> Two bowl barrows in Ashley Wood : 'A' 28 ft diameter by 3 ft high. 'B' 20 ft diameter by 2 ft high. <2> The feature is visible as a sub-oval mound 15.9 by 13.9m on Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project [5].
