Full Description
A Bronze Age pond barrow, part of the Culliford Tree barrow group, a dispersed linear group of barrows ranged along part of the Dorset Ridgeway and incorporating the Broadmayne bank barrow (SY 78 NW 7). The pond barrow is circa 20 metres in diameter and circa 0.4 metres deep. Listed by RCHME as Broadmayne 25 and by Grinsell as Broadmayne 8a. RCHME described the pond barrow as being surrounded by a continuous bank circa 15 feet across and 6 inches high. In 1979, Ordnance Survey field investigation located no trace of a visible bank. <1-3>
