Listed Building record MDO5130 - St Mary's church, Tarrant Rawston

Of squared stone, rubble and flint with ashlar dressings. The roofs are tiled with stone slate verges. The developmental history of the church is difficult to define, owing to enlargement and refurbishment work in the late eighteenth century. However, the list of rectors goes back to the early fourteenth century and elements of the the naveare probably of similar date. The south chapel and south porch are sixteenth century, and the chancel and north chapel are eighteenth century. A west gallery was inserted in the nave, probably early in the nineteenth century. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

The parish church of St. Mary has a probable 14th century nave, with south chapel and south porch added in the 16th century. The chancel and north chapel are 18th century and the gallery at the west end of the nave was added in the 19th century. <1> Redundant British church, now private chapel. <4>
