Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Banked linear earthworks to the west of Tarrant Rawston are visible on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise of wide linear banks forming a series of partial enclosures on a broadly NNE-SSW alignment, extending over a distance of over 1800m by 1200m. They are probably part of a later prehistoric field system, possibly of Bronze Age/Iron Age origin, one that may continue to the northeast and recorded under MDO5081. The features overlap a settlement of probable Iron Age to Roman date (MDO5133). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
