Summary

Part of a rectilinear enclosure visible as earthworks on an oblique aerial photograph taken by Francesca Radcliffe in May 1991 and as a cropmark on aerial photographs dated 2005. The enclosure has narrow, slightly sinuous ditches to the south and west but its northern and eastern extents cannot be discerned in adjacent fields. It encloses an area measuring at least 300 metres north east - south west by at least 112 metres north west - south east. The visible south western corner firms a sharp, well defined angle. The record for this monument has been enhancesd with support from Wessex Water. The enclosure appears to be part of a fragmented field system and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
