Summary

A parish church with walls of carstone and local limestone, partly rendered, and a stone slate and tile roof. The chancel and nave, built in the mid-thirteenth century, appear to be the earliest part of the building. There are later additions, and the building underwent several episodes of repair and restoration in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Full Description

Parish Church of St. Hubert, Corfe Mullen has walls of carstone and limestone, roughly squared and coursed, and in part rendered. The chancel and nave are of mid 13th century origin and the west tower was added in the early 14th century. The north chapel of around 1400, originally the porch, was altered to its present form in the 19th century. The brick-built south transept was added in 1841 and the church was repaired or restored in 1880, 1865 and 1930. <2>
