Full Description

A bowl barrow on Gussage Hill, located among the earthworks of the later prehistoric settlement (ST 91 SE 3), and part of a small group of barrows located just south of the Dorset Cursus (Linear 41). RCHME fieldwork recorded the barrow (A) as a mound 60 feet in diameter and 6 feet high, surrounded by a ditch 15 feet across and 1 foot deep. NB the other barrows previously described here have now been recorded separately as ST 91 SE 160 and ST 91 SE 161. (ST 99471372:ST99471369:ST 99491367) Tumuli (NR). <2> (A) ST 99481372. A bowl barrow damaged by ploughing. It is 60ft in diameter and 6ft high with a ditch 15ft across and 1 foot deep. <3>
