Full Description
SZ 065989. Several large pieces of bead-rim bowls, a perforated base and other black first-century wares were found in 1949 at the back of Mr Dacombe's pigsties. The sherds were in the collection of the late S F Creamer in 1950. <1>
SZ 06539897. Th precise findspot was pointed out on the ground by Mr Dacombe who had found the pottery in 1949 while digging a drainage sump in the field adjacent to the farm buildings. The pottery was found at a depth of about two feet. All the pottery was in fragments when collected up. The finds were given to Mr
S F Creamer and were sent to Red House Museum, Christchurch, after Mr Creamer's death.
The site falls within a ploughed field. No further finds have been made. <2>
