Monument record MDO572 - Duntish Park, Buckland Newton
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Deer park first referred to in 1248. No 'park' names are noted by the Ordnance Survey, but five are recorded on the Tithe Apportionment Rolls, all west of the road between Castle Hill Farm and Knaps Hill Farm. Parts of a park pale bank may have been identified, but the full extent of the putative park is not known.
