Full Description
A rectilinear banked enclosure is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery (2-4) to the north of Badbury Rings. It is located immediately to the west of the Roman Road from Badbury Rings to Kingston Deverill, the Roman road either forming its eastern side or cutting the enclosure (the eastern side not being visible). It is 185m long and is one of a cluster of enclosures visible as cropmarks and soilmarks on aerial photographs, situated near the junction of several Roman roads and thought to be of Iron Age/Romano-British date. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.
