Summary

One of three ring ditches visible on aerial photographs, and interpreted as probable round barrows. They lie close to the modern hedge. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.

Full Description

Three ring ditches … 'B' ST 97370414 … probably the remains of barrows, appear on an air photograph. They lie close together in a line beside a modern hedge, NE of King Down. … 'B', circa 65ft diameter. <1> The eastern of three plough-levelled round barrows are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <2-3> immediately to the north of a modern hedgeline to the north-east of King Down Farm. The barrow is 20m across and comprises a central mound with external ditch. It was digitally plotted during the Middle Dorset Stour AIM.
