Summary

A linear earthwork comprising a central bank with flanking ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs running NW-SE for 295m to the north of Badbury Rings. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.

Full Description

(From ST 96420374 to ST 96130395) Bank. No ditches visible. <1> This bank is no longer visible on the ground and seems to have been ploughed out. A slight bump in the hedge where it crosses, is the sole indication of its former existence.The area within which the site falls is now under crops. <2> A linear earthwork comprising a central bank with flanking ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <3-4> running NW-SE for 295m to the north of Badbury Rings. The feature appears to abut the northeast corner of the enclosure described in MDO5869 and is considered likely to be a linear boundary or trackway of later prehistoric date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.
