Full Description

Necklace of porosphaera found in CRAB FARM, 1919. <1> Similar information. The necklace was composed of about 50 white beads; their diameters ranging from 0.3"-0.6". The site seems to be 200 to 300 yds. E of Crab Farm Buildings and S. of the main Wimborne - Blandford Road [Area centred ST 95390264]. <2> Beads of porosphaera have been used from the earliest times to the present day & therefore it is impossible to assign a date to this find. In 1950 the beads were in the possession of Mr G.M. Lock, Wimborne. <3> These beads are still in the possession of Mr. Lock, but no closer location of the find was possible. As stated in T.3. these beads cannot be classified to any particular period. <4>
