Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A hoard of over six hundred Roman coins in a pot was found in 1877. The dates of the coins ranged from Mark Anthony to Septimius Severus, which suggests that the hoard was buried soon after AD 195. Four hundred and forty surviving coins are now in the Dorset County Museum.
