Summary

A bowl barrow excavated by Pitt-Rivers, who found a cremation near the centre. In 1975 the barrow was described as being a mound around 46 feet in diameter and 5 feet high, surrounded by a substantial ditch.

Full Description

Bowl barrow 46ft in diameter by 5ft high, surrounded by a substantial ditch. It was excavated by Pitt-Rivers, who found a cremation, probably primary, near the centre. <4> ST 96861793. A bowl barrow in Barrow Coppice. The barrow mound is composed of earth, flint and chalk and measures up to 15 metres in diameter and 1 metre high. Scheduled. <5>
