Summary

Two storey with basement and attics. The house has brick walls with rusticated stone quoins, and is roofed in tile and slate. Original U-shaped plan of the first quarter of the eighteenth century, with later eighteenth century alteratioins, possibly of c1770, a date that appears on a bell at the front entrance. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

SY 957982. Henbury House of two storeys with basement and attics has brick walls with rusticated stone quoins and dates from the second quarter of the 18th century although much enlarged and altered. The original plan was U-shaped with the main front to the north and two wings extending to the south. Alterations were made in the later 18th century, perhaps circa 1770, a date that appears on a bell at the front entrance. <1> Henbury House and Henbury Hall. <3> (SY95689823). Henbury Hall (name confirmed), remains as described above. It is at present being renovated. See ground photograph. <4>
