Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Archaeological evaluation of a site proposed for gravel extraction revealed a concentration of features including post holes, pits and spreads of occupation material, interpreted as a probable late Bronze Age / early Iron Age settlement. Excavations in 1994 revealed two circular post-built structures and numerous pits. Pottery from these features was of early Iron Age date.
