Full Description

Perforated sandstone hammerhead found in the Alpine Nurseries c.1930. Other - W.E.Wright, 10 Folkestone Rd, Salisbury. He says he saw two others from same time, now lost. Area centred at SU 08250309. <1-2> [SU 08280310] The ALPINE NURSERIES have been vacated and no further information regarding this find was obtained during fieldwork. Neither W.E.Wright nor authority in TI was consulted. <3> This implement was seen in the possession of Mr WRIGHT [T.1] It is a Me. hammerhead of ferruginous sandstone with an hour-glass perforation. Circular in plan, the diameter is 4 1/2 inches, and maximum thickness 2 1/2 inches. The owner could offer no closer location for this find than the Alpine Nurseries. <4>
