Summary
A ring ditch at Knowlton, Woodlands, is visible as a cropmark on a 1989 aerial photograph. The feature is one of a group of similar features at this location and is probably a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description
A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of possibly three ring ditches, visible as cropmarks in a field West of Knowlton: B - SU 01761000 . <2>
SU 01731000; SU 01831009. Two round barrows, lying south west of the 'Knowlton Circles'. <5>
The three round barrows described by authority 2 have been mapped by from aerial photographs EH's Knowlton Circles Project. As a result of that survey, the position and details of the barrows was established more accurately: SU 0177 1001. Described as 'B' above. Defined by a single circular ditch 15.9m in diameter. The barrows described by authority 5 seem to be those described as 'A' and 'B' above. <4>

The feature is one of a group of similar features at this location and is probably a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
