A ring ditch 29m in diameter at Knowlton is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The feature is one of a group of similar features at this location and is associated with the extensive barrow cemetery known as the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. It probably represents a Bronze Age round barrow. There was no visible trace of the feature on the ground in 1986 and it has not been recommended for scheduling. It is truncated on its southwest side by a historic field boundary. The area is now occupied by a cattle trough and the whole area reduced by tread. It was mapped by English Heritage’s Knowlton Circles Project and it was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
