Full Description

Four cists found in the SW of the destroyed enclosure on Verne Hill, discovered during the construction of the Verne Fortress c. 1860. Three of the burials lay E-W including one, possibly of a child (with its head to the W). One cist to the W lay N-S with the head to the N. Some pottery sherds were also found there.(1)
