Full Description
The tread of a strip lynchet, 8yds wide, can be seen from SY 66088133 to SY 66248113, adjacent to 8 acres of disturbed strip lynchets (now destroyed). <2>
The strip lynchet visible on air photograph <2.1> from SY 66078193 to SY 66118184 was under crops at the time of visit. The feature visible on air photograph from SY 66088133 to SY 66248113 is a hollow-way, but in the same field a lynchet 2.0m. high runs north-south from SY 66248112 to SY 66258130, the only one now visible. <3>
A medieval strip field system is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs in the field to the south of Causeway Farm. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. <1> <2.1>
