Summary

Surface finds of Roman material and evidence of kilns were found in a field on the north side of East Hill at some time before 1878 and reported on by Professor Buckman. Further investigation revealed stone-paved floors and at least five kilns. Finds included stone roofing slates, querns, Kimmeridge shale bracelets, and black and red coarse pottery.
