Full Description

Fragments of a Roman cinerary urn were found when digging a grave at Broadway for the late Mr Puckett who had been murdered. <1> Broadwey: RB pottery found "while digging the grave of the late Mr Puckett" (presum. in cemetery or churchyard). <3> (SY 66808354) A headstone reads Adam Stapleton Puckett murdered 8 July 1862. The graveyard is small and by 1865 burials were taking place in a cemetery across the road. No information was obtained about any similar finds in the area. <4>
