Summary

Inhumation burials and occupation debris were found east of the waterworks, on a south facing slope below the 100 ft contour, in 1939. Two burials, lying east-west on right side with legs flexed. One had a bead rimmed bowl near the head, with sherds, shale fragments and two bronze broaches, one a plate broach of the second half of the first century, in the grave fill. The second had a bead rimmed bowl near the head and hob nails at the feet. The grave fill contained sherds and a bronze needle. A third burial was located but not excavated.
