Full Description
On the north-west side of Barrack Road, to the immediate south-west of Nothe Tavern. Cleared grassed enclosure with several mature trees surrounded by stone and brick walls, entered through a gateway with a flat arch supported by an iron lintel. A small brick and stone pediment stands on top bearing the words Friends Burial Ground. Presence of former gates indicated by hinges on both jambs. The only extant memorial stones had been placed against the north-west wall, small semi circular form dated 1821 and more elaborate examples from the early 19th century. A kink in the north-west wall along with a ground level change suggests former boundary. <2>
