Monument record MDO680 - Bowl barrow on Castle Hill, Cattistock

Summary
A mound inside the enclosure on Castle Hill, interpreted as the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. In 1952 this monument was reported as being rougly circular and around 50 feet in diameter with a mound about 4 feet high, and much damaged.

Full Description
A bowl barrow with a hollow centre; diameter 20 paces, height 5 ft. <2>
A grass covered ditchless bowl barrow, 18.0m. In diameter and 1.6m. High. The top is flattened, and the S. side has been slightly dug into, but the barrow has not been damaged as suggested by T2. <4>
No change. O.S. 1/2500 survey revised. <5>
