Full Description
A small group of pottery in Poole Museum appears to have been collected from the site of Carter's Almshouses (now Old Ropewalk) during the construction of more buildings in the later 1960s. This pottery is of interest as it contains definite second century types, which were lacking from earlier Hamworthy excavations further to the east. It may suggest a shift in occupation westwards towards this area in the second century AD. (1)
