Full Description
An evaluation carried out to determine the nature and survival of archaeological deposits at Tatnam Farm, Poole, demonstrated that much of the area had formerly been marsh and infilled to create the present land surface. The former marsh is represented by peat deposits that may seal evidence of prehistoric activity. However, no archaeological finds or features were recovered. (1)
An Assessment report was produced on the environmental potential of the area that indicated that the buried peats have the potential for archaeological deposits for a period spanning the period from c. 2000 years ago to the early nineteenth century. (2)
