Evidence for a possible Roman salt manufacturing site was found during the construction of a new toilet block and services at Upton Country Park, Poole in 1995. The feature contained briquetage and a sherd of Roman pottery.

Full Description
Part of a feature containing briquetage and a sherd of Black Burnished ware pottery was observed in a watching brief during the construction of a new toilet block and services at Upton Country Park, Poole in 1995. The feature was not fully exposed or investigated, but it is probable that it may be part of a Roman salt production site. (1) (2)
