Summary

Bronze Age bowl barrow 20m in diameter and 0.5m high. A circular mound is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Worgret Way Farm, Arne. It is considered likely to be the remains of a Bronze Age barrow.

Full Description

A large ditched Bowl Barrow. <2> A mound 16.5 metres diameter and 1.5 metres high, with traces of a ditch 0.8 metres and 0.1 metres deep, but this is under the bowl barrow. Slight mutilation in the top. (3) SY 89658729. Bowl barrow, about 55ft diameter and 4ft high. Ploughed. <4> SY 89658729. Bowl barrow, as described above (3), although the ditch can no longer be traced. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <5> A circular mound, approximately 14.4m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Worgret Way Farm, Arne <7-8>. It is considered likely to be the remains of a Bronze Age barrow. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
