Summary
A Bronze Age round barrow is visble as an earthwork on aerial photographs and Lidar imagery. It is one of two round barrows identified at this location on South Heath, Bere Regis (MDO7096-97).

Full Description
(A & B). Two large bowl barrows. No other details given. <2>
'A'. A mound 13.5 metres in diameter and 1.8 metres high. There is no sign of a berm, but a surrounding ditch is 1.2 metres wide and 0.2 metres deep. This bowl barrow has been cut through from north-south by tanks, leaving a track 4.0 metres wide and 0.4 metres deep across the mound, and destroying the ditch at the north and south quadrants. No surface finds were made in the vicinity of these barrows. <3>
'A' - (67) - SY 86168926. Bowl barrow, 55ft. Diameter and 7ft. High situated on South Heath. Damaged by tanks. <4>
SY 862894. Two round barrows on South Heath. Scheduled. <5>
'A': SY 86168925. Bowl barrow, overall diameter 21.0 metres, with a ditch 2.5 metres wide completely encircling it. Height 2.0 metres. Ditch 0.2 metres deep. Both barrows are on heathland have minor mutilations. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
A Bronze Age round barrow, approximately 11.3m in diameter, is visble as an earthwork on aerial photographs <7-8> and Lidar imagery <9>. It is one of two round barrows identified at this location on South Heath, Bere Regis (MDO7096-97). This feature was plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
